How You Like Me Now?

To paraphrase, the email I received Monday read something like this:

"Yo Gabba Gabba will be on tour in Tacoma in November and we have a passes for you if you are interested.  Just let us know and we will set them aside for you"

Now, let it be noted that I, SeattleDad, do not or have not EVER lived under a rock.

I do, of course, live on a rock.  And apparently this rock is fully equipped with a whole infrastructure devoted solely to transmitting moving pictures instantaneously through a system of cables into peoples homes manifesting themselves onto rectangualr screens.   It's all very Jetsons.

Yeah, it's called television.  And no, we don't have it here.

Therefore it was my belief that, though I had heard of them before, I had never before seen anything by Yo Gabba Gabba.  But hey, we are wired in this house.  So, through the power of the Interwebs I was able to do a quick query to see what this television based muscial group was all about, before accepting the generous offer.

It was during my search that I realized I HAD actually seen Yo Gabba Gabba preform before.  And....I was completely taken in by the performance.  This was it:

Okay, that oozed cool.  NOW I'm getting excited.  And, we will be attending.

I just hope Lukas ends up liking them too.

Just wait until they sing "a party in my stomach". :) No matter what kids group they are, kids seem to enjoy live concerts so I bet you will too - have fun!

None of my kids have ever taken an interest in this show, but I have friends with kids that ADORE IT.

So I'm sure your son will have a blast.

My son is currently obsessed with the 80's cartoon version of White Fang. Think that will be coming to the stage soon?

Sadly, I have to be the one to tell you that the show is NOWHERE as cool as that commercial. Also, since the big red dildo didn't speak you don't know how whiny he is.

Yeah I don't get it and neither does the Mini-Kamp. But she would marry Elmo if he asked.

Oooooooh dude. DLG. Loves. Yo Gabba Gabba. It's like Seseme Street on crack dude! I even love it. You're going to have such a good time. I'm jealous.

Wow! Well let me first say that I have a 42" LED LCD TV with a million channels and an iPhone. What's that mean? Apparently, nothing at all cause I had to Google them too! LOL! Let me know how the show goes! How cool that you get to go for free!

Watching Yo Gabba Gabba live may blow your mind a little bit, but I hope you enjoy it. The songs are catchy.

Yea. Um. Hate to break it to you, but the show isn't nearly as cool as that commercial.

Then again, guest bands on the show have included Weezer, MGMT, and The Ting Tings. So there's some coolness there after all.

The show is a blend of totally cool and absolute absurdity. (I loathe it but the kids like it.) And the songs will haunt you. Seriously -- they'll haunt you.

When Oliver was three I would daily implore him to watch Yo Gabba Gabba in preference to Barney or Boogie Beebies. By far the coolest show for that age group.

Now my daughter is three I'd try to persuade her to watch it, but the episode when Jack Black guested and dressed up as DJ Lance left her in tears of terror!

I can only imagine that Yo Gabba Gabba is what you see when on an acid trip. I've never done acid, but I was subjected to the show in the waiting room at our peds office one time. Clearly I'm lamer than I thought because I don't get it.

I must live under a rock too because I didn't know that was Yo Gabba Gabba either. It all seems very strange.

@Mighty M - We always tell Lukas there is a party in his stomach. That should be fun.

@Eric - Don't be...I think.

@Erin - White Fang? Don't remember that and I am a child of the 70's - 80's.

@Scifi - Hahaha.

@DC - You would NEED your shotgun then.

@Papa K - I hope so. Thanks.

@Rachael - Sounds interesting. As long as Lukas likes it, I'm good.

@Didactic - My expectations are not high, which is probably good.

@Ed - I don't want to be haunted.

@Steve - Hopefully, Jack won't be touring.

@PJ - I am so lame I still haven't seen anything other than this commercial.

@Otter - I'll report back.

Holy crap, I hate that show! My kids watch some of those type of shows, but that one is not one of the good ones. I hope you have fun and that you and Lukas enjoy yourselves, but Phineas and Ferb would be better!
