Everything turned out nearly perfect, including the cake:
My only complaint? I was so busy working the grill all afternoon that I didn't get a lot of time to spend with the birthday boy.
That's okay though, since I only have to share him with Mrs. LIAYF for most of the other 364 days of the year. Sunday was all about Lukas.
Happy Birthday Buddy!

Happy Birthday to your son. I spent Maddie's first birthday manning the grill but the last two we decided to do pizza and barbecue to free us up to actually enjoy the party.
From one pirate to another: Happy birthday! And that's an awesome cake.
Happy birthday, Lukas! Yo ho ho and a box of juice!
@Brandon - It was quite an undertaking but it was sure fun to see all the people come out to help us celebrate. I might be ready for something smaller next year.
@Didactic Pirate - Thanks. Pirates have got to stick together.
The cake tasted awesome too. It was from a very popular bakery here in Seattle.
@Film Father - Avast! Thar was no juice at this party. Just Organic valley milk (and, of course, beer for the the adults) Grandpa and Grandma own an organic valley dairy.
Happy, happy birthday to the wee man! That cake looks fab. Now, I'm craving some chococlate pirate cake!
Awesome cake! Themed birthday parties are fun :-)Happy Birthday, kid!
Great looking cake.

Is that a crayon candle in a waffle? That is awesome. Happy, albeit belated, birthday to Lukas!
