We're Golden

Me: "Hold on buddy, daddy will cut you some more chicken. Where did I put the knife?"

Lukas: "I want da kniife"

Me: "I-I-I want the knife" (busting out in a hearty laugh)

Lukas: (laughing now) "I-I want kniiiife, Daddy!"

Me: "I-I-I want-want DA Kniiiife. . .Pleaaase!"

Mrs. LIAYF: (rolling eyes) "You need to stop encouraging him!"

my dad used to call this the young bull taking after the old bull. But then he would add that in time, the young bull grows up and tries to take on the old bull... and the old bull would knock the young bull on its butt. I think he was trying to tell me something?

Nice Golden Child tie in, my wife rolls her eyes at me regularly when I make too many movie references while parenting. Trying to entertain our less than cooperative son while getting ready for the wedding we were at recently I pulled out fat guy in a little coat to get his attention.

Hahaha. I'm as bad as my husband for doing this kind of thing.

There are some phrases that can no longer be said out loud without becoming quotes "I want the knife" is definitely one of them :)

You should always work in as many movie referrences as you can. Especially, Star Wars.
