Big Dirt Pile Blues

Smile, Smile Big Dirt Pile
In my alley all this while
Hired some dude to take you away,
Broke his axle - made you stay
This was after I had paid!
Said he’d come back real soon
Called him, called him- same old tune
Neighbors rant and neighbors pace
Neighbors get into my face
Don’t really have the stomach for this
Guess it means more cash I’ll miss.
Nothings easy, never is
In this whole ‘home owning’ biz
Puts me in a real foul mood
Trying, trying, not to be rude.

Fatherhood really saves the day
Big hug from Lukas- it goes away!

I'm giving my Suburban to charity tomorrow. It can start, should be able to run, but has two flat tires and havent driven it in over a year. Every six months some grumpy old neighbor calls code compliance on me.

Instead of getting a price it's not worth, I would feel better if I just gave it to charity.

Maybe you can give your dirt to charity. Or craigslist.. Say free dirt.. You haul..

I'm gonna second the free dirt idea. Maybe the add could read--own a mound of Washington--for Free!

@Kori - Nah, just been reading way to many kids books lately. Thanks for stopping by

@Mighty M - Thanks. Nothing that a hundred bucks that I don't really have won't fix. Gotta bite the bullet some times.

@Bolton - Believe me, I tried that. So, did quite a number of other people with extra dirt here in Seattle. It's a buyers market.

@Ed - I like that idea, though I am not sure that any who doesn't already own a mound of Washington would drive all this way to get one. You?

Just need some harmonica and a heavy guitar backing you and you've got something there.

Dude, you need to stop this home reno nonsense... you're writing in verse now for chrissakes!

What about rolling up your sod and raising your backyard a few inches with the earth before rolling it back?

If we are every able to sell out house I'm seriously considering never buying one again. Back when you needed to fog a mirror to get a loan I bought several houses and still have three. If I can get rid of two of them (the third I bought for my mom to live in) I'm not sure it is worth the hassle to own.

@Captain - I guess it wasn't a blues verse, but a blues feel.

@Anonymous - That's all you got?

@Scifidad - Yeah, it is driving me feather pluckin insane. Almost done though.

@PJ - I have trouble enough keeping up with the one. Several? No way. Thanks for stopping by.

Clever post. Our pile of yard debris is growing but still hidden from most eyes in the back--at least for now...

@DC - Look for me coming to DC soon enough.

@Slamdunk - That is the best place to have a midden pile.

@Lady Mama - Here, here.
